Could the group please advise me on how to possibly reformat the
encrypted drive? I have laptop hard drive that won't let me install an
OS or use a third party partition manager bootup disk to reformat the
drive. It will ask me for the kernel from a floppy. I don't have the
floppy. Is it possible to slave the drive in an external enclosure and
then format it from a desktop PC? Thank you in advance.

If you lack SGE software it may save time to use
FDISK to repartition, then FORMAT.

I am not familiar with safeguard, but I would expand on Don's
suggestion. First, you need to find a bootable disk or diskette
containing Fdisk. If in doubt, read this:
http://www.computerhope.com/boot.htm

Then, as suggested try to run fdisk. I suspect you will hit a wall and
not be able to delete partitions. If this is indeed the case, start
fdisk with this command line "fdisk /mbr". This is an old trick but it
will restore the master boot record of the disk which, I suspect, is
modified by safeguard.

If this does not work, then, you might download the evaluation version
of safeguard (there seems to be one) and install it on your drive. Once
it is installed, I would uninstall it following carefully the site's
recommendations.

Regards
