Can anyone tell me how to set up the emulator in eVC 4.0 for testing software
for the 320 x 240 landscape mode smartphone (such as the Motorola Q Phone)? My
emulator has only one choice for smartphone and that is the small portrait mode.
Ideally I would like to add a second choice under "Configure Platform Builder",
but I am willing to just modify the choice that is there by temporarily
replacing the 3 bitmap files and the xml file that define the platform. So
where can I get those files? (I have tried tinkering with the xml file and I
see that I can affect the screen size, but I would like to get the complete
landscape file if it exists somewhere.)

i don't think you can do that with eVC 4.0.

320 x 240 landscape mode smartphone are WM5 or WM6. eVC 4.0 does not support
WM5.

you need to use Visual Studio 2005 or later, and to install the appropriate
SDK's.

Well, I've already done it, after a fashion. I edited the .xml file that
defines the dimensions of the screen, and then I edited the .bmp files using
Paint to make the screen the correct size. Guess what? It works. Of course I
don't get emulation of the QWERTY keyboard on the Q, but my software works
otherwise. There is no reason why you can't develop for WM5 using eVC4,
provided you don't try to use any unique WM5 API functions.
