I posted this to another group which doesn't seem to be very active; so =
I'm hoping someone here can help me.

Are movies downloaded from these sites like Movielink.com, =
CinemaNow.com, etc, suitable for viewing on larger screen=20
TVs rather than 17"/19" monitors?

Is there a product that will allow downloading to a home/office PC and=20
sending them to a living room TV? I'm not interested in anything =
illegal.

The Movielink site refers to third party media extenders but there are =
no=20
specifics or help on the site. I know you can't 'burn' these rented=20
downloads and you cannot download them to an external HDD for moving to=20
another machine.

I have seen Media extenders from Hauppauge, SageTV and a wireless router =

device from Linksys referenced. I already have a wired/router network =
but=20
Hauppague support indicated that these download vendors probably use =
unique=20
compression techniques that probably won't work with their Extender; so =
I'm=20
assuming I'll get a similar reply from SageTV.

I know the easiest way would be to setup a computer near the living room =
TV=20
but my wife isn't thrilled with that suggestion.

TIA,

Wayne=20

...well that's exactly what my family does. We have a linksys multi-media
extender that sits in our living room in the component cabinet. We also have
a network connection to it (wired, in our case for better performance). We
download from MovieLink and the movies are directly viewable on the
wide-screen t.v. using the remote control unit that came with the linksys
extender. The quality is "excellent". We have the linksys extender
connected to the tv. via component cables for very high quality movies.
Naturally, these movies can also be seen on the multi-media pc which resides
in our bedroom. I usually download the movies from there. However, the
MovieLink connection viewable via the extender allows us to see "trailers"
for their existing movies as well so we can review which ones we want to
download for later viewing....When I originally downloaded MovieLink I
half-expected the movies to be "unviewable" via the extender. But they work
well with the extender from LinkSys. Hope this helps. There are plenty of
links to learn more about extenders elsewhere in this forum with their
capabilities/limitations...

I don't know about your other questions but Yes... we have downloaded a
couple of movies from Movielink.com and viewed on our 37" LCD. Looks just
like watching a DVD.
