Hi,

I have a couple of POP3 email ...@gmail.com accounts set up on my
Smartphone. Any email that gets downloaded to the phone's Inbox for the
account is automatically deleted by the OS during the subsequent
'send/receive,' which I currently have set to every 15 minutes. The only
way that I have found to get around losing my emails, is to move the message
to the 'Drafts' folder before the next 'send/receive.' I've also set my
accounts on gmail's server to leave a copy of the message on the server.

Has anybody else seen this problem on their phone? If so, have you figured
out how to prevent the automatic deletion of emails in your Inbox.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Stacy

are you deleting the emails after you read them?

if so, this is by design, but delete's behaviour can be set in inbox
options.

No I'm not deleting the messages. About 4 posts below mine you can see that
other people are having this problem as well.

I don't know how much more data to give.

- It's a POP3 gmail account.
- I have the phone (TMobile Dash) setup to check messages every 15 minutes.
- Any email that is downloaded from Google's server to my phone that is left
in the account's Inbox on my phone--Read or Un-Read--when the next
Send/Receive cycle is performed by my phone, is deleted.

That's about all I can tell you. When I called T-Mobile support, they said
they don't support Gmail. When I told them that once the email is
downloaded to my phone and the email is deleted automatically by the
operating system (Windows Mobile 5.0) it no longer is a Gmail problem, it is
a Windows Mobile/Mobile Outlook problem and is a software bug, they didn't
know what to say.

I have Outlook installed on my PC and with the same email accounts setup on
it and once an email is downloaded to the PC, it never gets deleted unless I
explicitly tell the application (Outlook) to delete it.
