What you need is to install service pack 2. Then go to the device
manager, and uninstall the usb-looking device with the question mark.
Then hit action->scan for hardware changes. Twiddle thumbs for a
minute or two.
In addition you may indeed to install "chipset" drivers. Which are
here. Unfortunately dv2000 is too broad to point to an exact model, so
here is the list. You'll have to find the right one.
