It does work in the AVer software, wholly and completely (save not having OTA
because I live in a valley), but it does not work in WMC. The only reason I
care is that the AVer software does not play nicely when I have my external
plugged in and WMC does.

It will not play video when my external monitor is plugged in, even on my

Do these problems also occur when trying to play a DVD?
What resolution is your external monitor and how is it connected VGA,
S-video?
What are your laptop and external monitor resolution settings?
