I have a Motorola Q and was given instructions for VPN:

To initiate the VPN you to select the following in the given order:

1) Start

Internet Explorer
Menu
Tools -> Options
Connections - > Unselect Automatic settings
-> Select network you are trying to reach as configured in the VPN.

2)Type in the Hostname of the VPN in the address bar of the Internet
explorer. The VPN server in the configuration should be the tunnel endpoint
established by the administrator.

All this does is have IE make an HTTP request to the server not a VPN
session. Does the Q not have a VPN client?

The way I understand it, possibly poorly is that the Q somehow detects
if it needs to use the VPN connection or not and it initiates the VPN
connection, of course it doesnt work for me either.

I setup a PPTP vpn tunnel on my watchguard firebox X 500, and I used
the same settings I put in my Motorola Q on my Windows XP Pro laptop
and it works great on my laptop but the Q acts like someone urinated in
its corn flakes this morning, any ideas folks?
