Does anyone know Media Center's recorded TV will still have closed captioning
in it when you play it back? I guess Media Center supports closed captioning
while watching live TV. That's great, but will the TV shows you record for
time shifted viewing will still have closed captioning or not?

If Media Center doesn't support closed captioning in recorded TV, does
anyone know what the best option would be for having closed captioning in
recorded television on the PC?

The closed captioning data is also recorded along with the video and audio.
When you play back a recorded show, the Closed Captioning can still be
displayed.
As for time shifted viewing, the C.C. is still there.
Many times I review the C.C. when I can not understand the audio while
watching live t.v. (by skipping backwards and muting audio).

Media Center 2005:

Media Center does support Closed Captions in Recorded TV if the program had
closed captions at the time it was recorded.

In the MCE interface, Settings > TV > Captions. On Caption Display click the
+ and/or the - to change to ON, Save.

Captions display on the screen on both the computer display and the TV
display if configured for Video on the TV.

Captions do not work in Windows Media Player, Microsoft claims to have
captions in WMP, but I have never seen WMP display any captions.

Hi, how do you set the captions? I only notice the captions when in mute mode.

Thanks,
Pat
