There were 2 posts, David.

Here's one of them. We determined the version of Desktop Search in a subsequent
message.

Subject: Can't find known word in Thunderbird email
Date: Fri, 26 Aug 2005 03:13:04 -0700
Lines: 31

,I downloaded the Thunderbird addin, rebooted and got the index complete
message but when I enter a word known to be in the body of a Thunderbird
email nothing comes up.

Then I re-indexed and still it didn't bring up the email.

Questions:

How do I determine what version of MSN Desktop Search I have?

Where do I verify that the Thunderbird addin is in fact installed?

Thanks,

Kerry

The second post was a problem with IE and the Search results window. Kerry
reported that links would become inoperable; they would not be click-able. Kerry
resolved this by reinstalling IE and the Toolbar plus moving an unnamed DLL from
\addons to \Windows. I asked what DLL, but there was no reply.

I believe you must have Thunderbird running for email to be indexed. Try
opening Thunderbird, make sure you can access your email with it, and then
hit "Index Now" in the Indexing Status window. You should see it start to
index Thunderbird right away. If you do not, right-click on the WDS tray
icon, click Desktop Search Options, and go to the Indexing Options page.
Select "Custom folders and email locations" and click "browse."

Does Thunderbird show up in there?
