I am attempting to put this awesome system together, but it looks like I am
caught between a rock and a very hard place. MCE 2005 allows only OTA signals
? No Direct TV ? Does any one know of a sweet USB or Firewire HDTV Tuner and
do I need a separate analog tuner as well? I am using a dell XPS Laptop which
does not have a tuner. With Direct TV going to 130 HD channels shortly, why
screw with the OTA ? I run my system through a Gefen 4 + 1 extender with
gives me HMDI digital throughout, yet if I can't get to Direct TV, why
bother? Your comments are most appreciated!

Those are some very good questions, Ron, and I believe I can assist you in
the answers, but I just need to know just a few things, before I can help you:

Do you currently subscribe to Satellite TV, such as Direct TV?

Do you own a digital TV? Is it High Def. capable with an external receiver,
or does it have an ATSC (a.k.a. Digital or High Def.) T.V. Tuner built-in?

Do you currently subscribe to any High Def. programs with Direct TV? Or do
you only have OTA digital and/or HD programs?

Finally, what the heck is a Gefen 4 +1 extender? Please explain this device
to me in every detail possible, from it's manufacturer, to it's model and
part number, as well as where you got it. I have no idea what you're refering
to.

Please get back to me so that I have a better idea of your setup, so that I
can accurately tell you what you need to solve you problem.
