Hello All,

I am a total neophyte to GIS and I have to convert the maps from
commonly available file formats such Arcinfo/ASCII grid,
ArcInfo/Binary grid, Binary Terrain (.bt) files into a propreitary
format. Is there a way I can determine whether my source map is in
meter grid or arc grids ?? Is it normally included as a part of file
header or not ?? Also, can someone explain the difference between a
meter based grid and arc based grid and how can I do the transform from
meter based grid to arc based grid or vice versa.

Thanks in Advance
Nishanth
