If you're asking about power management (away mode? hmmm?) the various
levels of sleep, standby, suspend, and hibernate modes are explained well in

Please log in for more thread options In away mode, the PC is not in any of the traditional sleep modes but
more like a home theater component with instal on capabiliities. the
display is turned off and there is some power reduction but the
computer can be turned back on to full power with the press of a
button.

Please log in for more thread options Is Away mode settable anywhere? Installed rollup-2, but on shutdown, still
only see standby and hibernate options. Where is away mode?
