Off topic for this area but seems like there are enough people that
would know?

I seem to have done something that is causing me to get an unknown mass
storage controller error on Intel D845PEBT2 P2 2.7Ghz motherboard under
XP Profession SP2. I am not sure what I deleted. Back USB ports work
and so do front ones, but error message is coming from front ones. When
I plug in external hard drive in USB 1 housing it works at the back, but
not the front (its light comes on), but a card reader works.

Any idea? I have re-installed Intel chipset drivers.

It could be the wiring of the USB header cable for the front USB ports is
wrong / does not match the motherboard
OR insufficient current available on the front USB ports...

If I put that was a typo. Sorry. Its a P4-2.7GHz
Missing mass storage device turned out to be SATA but USB still has problem.

In case its of interest.
Missing mass storage device was SATA, even though SATA is not activated.
USB hard drive is not recognized on fron ports, even with the USB power
feed cord there too, BUT if it pull powere from the back the hard drive
works in front. Its as if the front USB connections are low power only.
