I have a Dell c640 that runs very well except for an annoying problem.
It will run for about 15 minutes then shuts off. I replaced the cooling
fan and heat sink with appropriate grease added for heat transfer.

Any ideas what else might be reacting to heat or?

I looked via Google with not much success.

TIA

You can see my thread further down - I was having the same problem, related
to the battery and adapter, doesn't necessarily sound like same thing
you're seeing, but I can't really tell...

My daughter gave me her old Dell which did that. Blowing out all the
various vent slots with compressed air was the cure.
FWIW
YMMV

If it's a heat problem, wouldn't something like motherboard monitor be able
to tell you the status of everything on a dell laptop? If so, has the o.p.
tried that since he mentioned replacing heat sink etc?
