Hello Group,

I have Dell Inspiron 5160. It does boot fine with battery but with AC
adaptor plug-in the LED lights for AC adaptor & LED lights for Battery start
flashing every 3sec. If I insert the battery than no flashing (laptop boot
fine with battery).

So far these steps has been done;

Hold on power button down for several sec
Check with different AC adaptor
Replace the power connector on MB

Any suggestion would be appreciated. I am trying to avoid to buy MB....:)

Thanks
Sam

Is it just that the battery is fully charged, so the led only flashes
occasionally as the battery is topped-up?
Does the system show charging OK when adapter plugged in ?
Might be normal ...
If the icon does not show adapter plugged in when it actaully is, then it
might be the system board power connector - the one I took apart had a fault
where the two part of the insert had lost contact with each other, most of
the time. Had to repair the connector itself! What fun.
