Hey I have an Inspiron 4000, which had an intermittenly operating LCD.
I found out I had a bad flex cable, ordered two on ebay and tried them
out.. they fit perfectly, but now the LCD does not work AT ALL. at this
point i'm stuck, and dont know what to even try to replace next, please
help, thanks.

Step 1: Put the old cable back and verify that everything is, in fact,
working.

Step 2: Minutely compare the old cable with a new cable. Sometimes
there are configurable jumper spaces on these cables.
