Hi

I have recently bought a Dell Dimesnion 3100. Everytime I restart my
computer, the sound doesn't come out. When i look in the device manager, I
get the yellow question mark. If I uninstall it and then scan for hardware
changes, it picks it up ok and reinstalls it and it works fine. But I have
todo this everytime I start my computer, or if it has been in standby.

Does anyone have any ideas on why it is doing this? I have tried updating
the driver by downloading an update from dell's website, but the problem is
still happening.

The device is a 'SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC'. I get a Code 10
error message - 'The device cannot start'. I am using driver version
5.10.0.4823 dated 16/11/05.

Any info/help would be much appreciated!

Thanks & Regards,

Andy

I don't like to state the obvious but have you spoken to Dell about this?
