First, this is the Windows Media Center newsgroup, in the future, please
post your questions to a more appropriate forum (probably an Internet
Explorer group).
What you are seeing in the address bar has nothing to do with the history or
cookies or temp files; those addresses appear as part of the AutoComplete
feature in IE. This feature automatically fills in forms, completes address
entries, login name, passwords, etc. The addresses that come up when you
start typing are from sites that has been visited. To turn off this feature,
go to Tools, Internet Options, Content tab, AutoComplete button, and select
any (or none) of the items you would like remembered.
There is an option to clear these items as well; the addresses are suppose
to clear with the Clear History, but I've noticed that some addresses seem
to persists even after Clearing History and Clearing AutoComplete.
