Hello.
At my work place I administrate Some of the computers.
I'm trying to create 6 workstation of public computers that will have access
to the internet , e-mail and printing.
The problem is that those computers get filled with "***" all the time.
I tried steadystate but it's diskprotaction is not what i want.
I use the gpo for the users, but the station itself are'nt protacted from
writing to desktop (cause the users need the desktop).
is there a way to delete the desktop and the mydocumets at evrey Logof/logon ?
is there a script to force logoff if idle for like 10min ?
I'm not to good at scripting but i thought of a script that will delete all
the files that were created since the computer last login.
I'm am running a windows server 2003.
thanks ahead.

I am not familiar with steadystate, but we use a product called Deep
Freeze that we have been VERY happy with. We use it on 100's of school
computer lab machines. Once it's installed, ALL changes on the computer
are wiped out at restart. It also has a feature that will do an
automatic restart after x minutes of idle time. I think it would fit
what you describe perfectly.

As an alternative, I think there is a GPO setting that could be set
either locally or as a GPO in AD that would basically configure that
user's entire profile to not be saved at logoff.

A little late, but... /y instructs the del command to delete files
without asking for confirmation first. Type del /y at a command prompt
for more info.
