When I log onto windows and come to do a sync with my PC and Ipaq4700 I get
a pop up widow asking me to confirm my outlook profile. Despite having
ticked the "set as default profile" box It continues to pop up for
confirmation. I notice it is a outlook window and offers only one profile to
select. This is very irritating as it never used to do it. If I do a
subsequent sync while still logged on to my current windows session it seems
happy.

Can anyone shed any light in this?

Thanks a lot

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

I think this MSKB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817952 should
answer your question about the "set as default profile" box. To set up the
default Outlook profile follow these steps:

1. Under Control Panel, click User Accounts, and then click Mail. If you
are using Control Panel Classic View, double-click Mail
2. Cick Show Profiles.
3. Under When starting Microsoft Office Outlook, use this profile, click
"Always use this profile", and then click the profile that you want to use
in the list.

Thanks Raj,

I afraid I've already done all that (Set as default profile) and I do not
get this problem when using Outlook itself. Its just when I run Active sync
I keep getting the dialogue despite have selected "set as default profile"
Again in the active sync dialogue. I can live with it but as I say it never
used to happen.

Cheers

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

I would suggest you delete and recreate the partnership. To delete and
recreate the partnership --

1. Disconnect the device from the computer.
2. In Activesync -> File -> Mobile Device.
3. Select the device whose synchronization relationship you want to end.
4. On the File menu, click Delete Mobile Device
5. Open Outlook with the correct profile.
6. Connect the device and follow the onscreen instructions to setup a new
partnership.

If you are using a WM 5.0 device and have multiple profiles, you might find
this information useful - http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/raj/WM5Profile.html
