I have a new T-Mobile SDA Smart Phone with Windows Mobile 5. I am
amazed to find that it seems to have no way of creating a default view
for the contacts list. This feature is available for like every
address book ever. I'm I missing something here or do I really have to
set a new filter every time I want to get to my most used contacts out
of 500 plus contacts?

The whole idea that is forces you back to the all contacts view every
time you open the contacts really defeats the purpose of having a
contacts button on the main view. That's like giving me a one button
options so that I can click 3 more times to make it useful.

Please, someone, is there a hack or a third party app that will fix
this major short coming?

Thanks,
Tyler

PS. I know, I know you can just start typing peoples names. How
anyone things this is a replacement is beyond me. Fiddling with the
keyboard is not my idea of ease of use when I could just view the top
10 people I talk to and use the joystick to call them.

I often wonder that as well and when I posted that question here over a year
ago the response that came back was you don't really need it if you T9 your
contacts. Now that I am used to it, I don't need the filter any more. But
I think you're right. It just needs to default to something else. Even if
they could give a registry hack to people that know what they are doing.

Adam,

I saw your post and thought maybe by now they would have added
something. Wishful thinking I guess. I just can't believe how some
features get left out. It is funny too because the last number you
dial from a contact is defaulted to the current number. So I guess
they though leaving your settings was good for some stuff but not all.

Oh, well, it's only Windows Mobile 5.0 top of the line, why should I
expect feature rich.
