Is there a way to set the default email folders on the MS Mobile 5.0? I
want to sync my outlook email with my MS mobile 5.0 pocket PC. I have email
configured on my pocket PC using a POP3 account, which is a seperate set of
folders. I cannot find a way to get my email to sync with the POP3 set of
folders instead of the Outlook E-mail set of folders on the device.
HELP! Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi Rachel,

No, you cannot set the default e-mail folder that your device should sync
with.

Is there any way to have my outlook email sync with the POP3 set of folders
on the device instead of the default set of folders? Is there any third
party software or back door to this? I am in a 30 day testing period with
this device and if I can't get my email to sync with my POP3 email on the
device then I won't be able to use it.

If I understand you correctly, you can do what I have done: I configured my
POP mail accounts on a Windows XP computer running Outlook 2003. Then I
created folders for each POP account under the Exchange Server Inbox. I
created some rules to cause mail to be moved to those folders respectively
as the messages arrive. Then I turned off the save a copy of sent items in
Sent Items folder and created another set of rules to move a copy of sent
items to their respective Sent Items folders (I created seperate for the POP
accounts and IMAP too). Then, when the mobile device syncs, it gets my POP
mail from the Exchange Server. New incoming POP mail is only available while
the XP computer is powered up and Outlook 2003 is running to retrieve it. I
did this so my POP mail (received and sent) would always be available
everywhere. Works great. Of course, you should start by removing your POP
account(s) from the device.
