Hi,

I have recently experienced debugging problems on my Windows Mobile 5/6 PDAs
with C# and VB, I have lost the ability to hit breakpoints when debugging,
the breakpoints are faded out and I get the floating message:

"The Breakpoint will not currently be hit. The specified module has not been
loaded."

I have checked the symbol file (.PDB file) and made sure the most recent EXE
has been copied across to the PDA. I'm stuck here because all I can think of
now is to reinstall Visual Studio 2005 and all the service packs. Does
anyone have any ideas?

...I've installed Visual Studio 2005 with Service Pack 1. I have Windows
Mobile 5 Pocket PC SDK Installed...

Thanks In Advance,

-S

I've experience the same problem when there is a Compact Framework mismatch.
Try uninstalling the CF on the device and then allow the ide to reinstall the
CF. Hopefully this will correct the issue.

I had the same problem. After a lot of searching I found out that
there is an easy solution. Just find the Service Pack for the Visual
Studio and its OK.
Worked for me.

Thanks guys, that seems to have done the trick (sort of)

In my case; I used VS 2005 for developing Smart Device projects
(embbeded applications that use the .NET Compact Framework v2.0). I had
previously loaded VS 2005 SPI and then started getting this error. I was
able to hit breakpoints in my .NET Framework apps targeted for my PC, but
not for the embedded apps targeted for my Windows CE 5.0 device. Also, I
could hit breakpoints when using one of the Pocket PC debuggers. So, the
problem was only when I ran the app in the debugger on my Windows CE 5.0
device.

The problem was solved by downloading and installing .NET Compact
Framework v2.0 SP1. Apparently, the VS 2005 SP1 needs the .NET CF 2.0 SP1
to also be loaded. Once I loaded the .NET CF v2.0 SP1, I then turned off
and then turned back on my PC. I could then hit breakpoints while running
on my WinCE device.
