Where can I locate battery for bios?

I had the same issue before with an earlier HP notebook. I asked their
technical support for assistance and they referred me to one of their
service center.
The technician there told me....that the real time battery is defective
and needs to be replaced but its is fixed in the motherboard...
I don't know if he was serious....he told me, you want to get a new
RTC( real time clock) you also have to get a new mother board.
I hope some people here who have mroe experience in this issue can
provide some valuable input.

The CMOS battery, the rechargeable battery that keeps the BIOS
information 'alive' has failed. This can be a user replacement if you
have the skills to do it.
