Hi,

Okay, so I got this nifty new IBM X40. I bought the Ultrabase Dock and
the CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive.

When I try to play any DVD movies, the picture has a lot of "white
noise" , and there are these annoying stationary vertical magenta bars
all across the screen. (I tried several, and played the same DVDs in
other systems with no problems)

The particulars are:
Hardware:
IBM X40 Model 2386 6GU
CD-RW/DVD-ROM Model 73P3288 in the Ultrabase dock

Software:
Win XP Pro, SP2 fully updated.
InterVideo WinDVD player (Version: 5.0-B11.250, latest update from the
IBM website)

Has anyone else experienced this, or am I just that lucky?

Thanks in advance for any feedback, I'm pretty much a novice about DVDs
on a pc, but we just started traveling alot and it seemed a better idea
than a seperate laptop and DVD player....

Sincerly,
Brian

PS, if replying directly, remove the .nospam from the return address.

I generally use some other program because I often experience problems
with WinDVD.

One thing to check. In preferences, video tab, try unchecking 'Use
Hardware Decode Acceleration' and 'Use Hardware Color Acceleration'. I
know mine doesn't work well with Hardwire Decode Acceleration checked.
