MS XP MCE question:
All I wanted to do is to play a DVD. Went thru the Media Ctr Install process
a couple of times, only to get a "Runtime Error" msg each time. [I'd also
encountered this msg when trying to set up an external HD]

So, either: How can I resolve this "Runtime Error" problem; or Can I install
a third party DVD drriver, without 'having' to have Media Ctr enabled?

Thanks
Wayne

More details on the runtime error would be helpful. For tips on creating an

If all you want yo do is play a DVD on a PC, just buy a DVD decoder. I use
WinDVD with no problem.

Even if you have Media center (2005) installed, you still need a separate
decoder.

Thanks Eric

I find that it's bundled on the Vaio I have.

Just need to upgrade to the video version.

And Thanks Doug for the tips. I'll keep them in mind when I come back here.
