Today the DSpatial project published release 0.3.2 of the DSpatial kernel.
DSpatial is an open source project written in Pascal that aims to supply
Delphi and Kylix developers with geospatial analysis tools at no cost.
Currently DSpatial is not likely going to be your geospatial analysis
environment of choice because it has limited analysis functionality. But
what it does, it does well. Supported are raster data in a wide variety of
formats and it can display these with some really spiffy options, including
pan sharpening for satellite images. Raster bands can be manipulated with
basic mathematical operations, and a small number of surface related
operations is supplied as well. DSpatial also has a great histogram function
which you can use to explore your data. Come take a look to get a feel of
where it is going.
The DSpatial home page can be found at http://dspatial.sourceforge.net/. Please note that you need to have Delphi 5+ or Kylix to compile the source
code. No binaries are currently provided.
Regards,
The DSpatial Development Team
