Hi there

I scanned my laptop at crucial.com and was told that my laptop memory
type was DDR PC2-5200.

Although you can buy it, not many places sell it. Is there another
memory type that would be compatible with it?

Thanks :)

DDR PC2-5300 is much more common and should work OK at 5200 speeds.

It's pretty common, but any faster DDR is likely to work (e.g. PC2-6400,
etc.). Note, PC2 = DDR2, not [just plain] DDR [e.g. DDR1]
