Hi all,
I used to be able to use DCut 0.95.1 to cut out commercials and convert my
MCE recordings to WMV. However, recently, after first using an analogue card
to record digital cable programs for a while and then switching back to
DVB-T (FreeView) cards (Hauppauge NOVA-T-PCI) I can no longer use DCut to
convert to WMV. The cutting part of the process seems to work without fail
but as soon as the conversion portion starts the error message below (at the
bottom of the msg) is displayed. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling
the software but that didn't work. I also noticed that the broadcast stream
has a resolution of 704 by 576 which is slightly different from the standard
full PAL resolution of 720 by 576, I tried changing the PAL profile file
(vbrPAL.prx) so it has that same (slightly smaller) resolution settings but
that didn't help either (this might be expected, I never delved very deep
into the inner workings of Windows Media encoding). I realize DVB-T
broadcasts and their MPEG-2 settings are specific to individual broadcasters
but is there anything I still could try with DCut or do I have to start
looking for other solutions? DCut still works just fine when I record with
an analogue card. Thanks!
