Hi All-
Anyone have experience with cross-platform (Win 2000/XP and Mac OS X)
metadata storage applications for sharing information between two users
or more? For example, does anyone have a web-based metadata storage
solution they could recommend? I have already seen the CERES
application for Windows located here:
http://gis.ca.gov/catalog/offline.epl.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

Tom,

Do you have a statement of requirements? Just offhand, if storage and
sharing are the needs, maybe the Apache web server would do the job ;-)
But I would guess you have more specialized operations in mind...?

Peter:
Thanks for your reply. No formal requirements ... yet. That said,
sharing small XML files along with loose bits of data (MS-Word docs,
for example) between Win XP SP2 and OS X v. 10.2.8, search
capabilities, and scalability are critical.

Do you have any experience using a Wiki for metadata storage? For
example, MoinX could run on an OS X v.10.3 or higher box, has a search
feature, and allows attachments: http://moinmoin.wikiwikiweb.de/MoinX.
But I may need something more extensible ... perhaps a Wiki that runs
MySQL would do the trick?
