I just replaced a Siemens SX66 (broken screen, didn't feel like paying up
$700 to replace it) with an Audiovox SMT 5600 (Cingular service, it's a
company thing and I don't have a choice). Setting up my personal emails has
been a breeze, andd works great.

Not so when it comes to trying to access my corporate email. Our company has
a web agent for accessing MS Exchange remotely - the
http://mail.our_company.net/corpexchangeserver/ gets us there, we log in
with username and password, and on the SX66 I was able to access everything
there, albeit from PocketExplorer. But it worked just fine. The other option
was to set up the Checkpoint Secureclient, but that was much more of a
hassle and I ended up using it less and less. However, with the SMT 5600,
Explorer will not show anything when I try to go to the web agent.

I also tried to define the web agent as a server for Activesync, but that
doesn't work, seemingly they have to add capabilities to the server.

I have looked for software that could translate the readily available info
from the Exchange web agent and populate it into the Smartphone's Outlook
folders. Does anyone know if such a software exists? Or is there some email
forwarding methodology someone can recommend? All I want to do is monitor
important emails on my Smartphone occasionally, it doesn't have to be the
perfect solution.

Thanks...pablo

You have two options...

If your company is using Exchange 2003 they may have the Outlook Mobil
Access enabled (if not sure ask IT). The address is
https://www.yourcomany.tld/exchange/oma

This is a text only interface, very easy to use and it works with any
browser.

Another option is to setup an Exchange ActiveSync, which will synchronise
your email, calendar and contacts (or what you select there) to your phone,
over the USB or over the air. To do so, check this article:
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=4048

In the article there are instructions for always-up-to-date configuration,
but you can easily skip these if not needed. There is also a list of
*important* patches to be applied and tools.
