Hi,
I would like to save some of the movies I record in media center on DVDs.
When I try the create DVD function in Media Center, it says the file is too
large for the disk and asks if I want to save at a lower quality, but so far
nothing has burned successfully. A quick look at the files shows that even
a 1/2 hour program exceeds 2 GB. Can anyone tell me how I would go about
saving (i.e. converting) "Microsoft Recorded TV Shows" to a format and size
that could be copied to a DVD?

Hi Jim,
I've been using Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 with the latest updates
(7.1.1.189 I think) to burn TV shows from MCE to a Video DVD disc with good
results. DVD Builder and Videowave both support .DVR-MS files. There are a
couple other DVD burning programs out there that also support .DVR-MS (the
Microsoft Recorded TV Show file format).
Good luck!

Please log in for more thread options Jim - you may have entered the great abyss of Media Center. Some of us are
having problems of "too large" when they are not too large. Some of us can't
get a TV program burn to go past 4%. If this is what you are experiencing
try typing "burning" or "stopping" in the search on this site. You will find
lots of ideas and that you are not alone. In spite of all the downloads,
patches, etc. I am still having problems. Best of luck.

Please log in for more thread options Thanks,
In typical backward fashion, I posted first then I started reading the many
posts that address this issue and noted some tips including a FAQ on the
Microsoft web site. As a result, I succeeded in burning a 1/2 hour program
to DVD. Now on to the next great adventure, burning longer programs.
