Dear all,
I have a DBMS in my PPC that works with .cdb files. On the other hand the
desptop version works with .mdb.
Activesync automatically converts these type of files when syncing.

Now I am working with Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile Device Center on
my PC and I find no way to convert these files.

That is because there isn't one. The .cdb format was removed from the PPC OS
a few years ago. AS still supported the legacy conversion to accommodate
older devices through AS 3.8 as I recall. A clean install of AS4 didn't
even support the Access translator. It seems the official concept at MS is
to support SQL Mobile (or whatever the current name is) as the internal DBs
on WM devices are now SQL based.

As far as I know, there is no way to have WMDC convert .mdb to .cdb and
back/sync.

You might take a look at SQL Mobile, or HanDBase, or DataOnTheRun.

Ticked me off too BTW

Thanks, Sven
I'll take a look at them. The issue is that I have my databases in SprintDb
Pro, and if I don't find something similar that works with Vista I'll have
to change everything.

Regards.

Yea, I'm familiar with them. They actually provided some option for AS 4.x
when MS removed the access sync. Might try pinging them to see if they are
thinking about doing a sync conduit for WMDC.
