 I'm running Windows XP w/Outlook 2007 and Activesync 4.5. I cannot update
the contacts on my phone from Outlook 2007. Everything else updates except
for the contacts. In Activesync, the settings option is grayed out.

 Hi,

Disconnect your device. Then try running the Diagnostics under Help menu of
Outlook. Then under Add/Remove Programs go to WMDC and perform a repair of
the installation. Following which attempt a sync. See if it helps enable
the settings option.

Hi there I am having exactly the same problem see "Contacts not Syncing
below" but no one has been able to come up with a satisfactory reason as to
why not..... at least i am not alone.......

As for why this is happening I haven't found an answer... but I did find a
workaround. I have an HTC 4000 that crapped out on me after just few months.
when I got a the replacement, half my contacts would NOT sync. SO I upgraded
from WM5 to WM6

It all seemed to go smoothly, but there were a few that just wouldn't go.
Finally I saved off the problem contacts to vcf format to my desktop. I
deleted the contacts then imported them from the vcf file. And THAT finally
worked.
