According to Activesync my contacts have been sync'd - but there are
contacts in Outlook that are not stored in my Sprint Pocket PC Phone and vis
a versa.
Any insights as to why this is happening?

Hi Sue,
* Which OS does the mobile device run on?
* Which version of ActiveSync & Outlook are you using?
For contacts not appearing on the device - ensure you are not viewing any
filtered content on your device. Check if a sync after soft reset helps.

Please log in for more thread options OS is Windows Mobile 5.1
ActiveSync is 4.2
I tried the soft reset - re-ran the sync and got the same results. For
example, when I view my contacts by 'company' only some of the contacts for
that company are listed! Then, since the unit is brand new, I took a hint
from your advise and did a 'hard reset'. What could it hurt? OK with that
done, I re-establish a relationship with the device and tried a
synchronization. The result was an error message, "The server is busy.
Support Code:85010017". What 'server' is busy?. I am synchronizing with my
home PC.
This device is new and so far not so impressed with ActiveSync. For a while
last evening I repeatedly received an error message '0x86000801' indicating
there was a conflict with the 'desktop'. Tried to find info on
Microsoft.com but never was able to identify exacting what the error message
was trying to tell me.
Again, any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Please log in for more thread options try to remove the existing partnership with your PC and your device.
after removing that partnership, restart both machines.
create a new partnership, in Activesynch 4.x, you can actually state how sync
wll happen, it is either you make your PC the controlling machine (data on
the PC is used to settle conflicting or duplicate info) or the device.
Suggest you make the one you use most of the time to update info on as the
controlling machine.
this will make it easiser for you to synch and controll your date/info since
one can correct the other..
After deciding which one, and creating the partnership, synch both devices.
If you are happy with the result, do a backup using the backup utility and
save a good copy of your data.
hope this helps.

Please log in for more thread options Hi Sue,
Have you tried to identify which information type is causing the "Server
busy" error message. Select only one information type at a time and attempt
a sync. Since a hard reset didn't work, chances are that your Outlook pst
file maybe corrupt for some reason. You can try running scanpst.exe and
check for errors in your pst file. If that doesnt work see if this works
for you -
