Hi,

Just got my first Smartphone - the Orange SPV C550. Great phone, but finding
it a tough one to crack. Would appreciate any help you can offer...

1) All my contacts are on the Sim; is there a simple way I can copy them all
to the phone?

2) Also, how can I set the phone to use one of my personal ringtones? (not
one I have downloaded from Orange). I can see how to set the ringtone for
individual contacts, but not for all callers.

Thanks in advance!

Rach,

Rigtones are to be stored in:- (use a PC Active Sync Connection to move
them)

Storage/Application Data/Sounds

They can be WMA, WAV or midi format and the can be set by going to:-

Settings/Sounds/Ring Tone

Hope this helps!

not sure about the Sim-Phone memory question (other way is easy)... i would
suggest a Outlook sync to copy them to outlook then back to the phone
memory.

Thanks, James. I've sorted my ringtones now, and I'm not that worried about
the contacts - they can wait. Now I just need to figure out what the little
icon is at the top of my screen! It's not in the list in the manual! It
looks like a little phone with some zig zag lines either side of it and it
is just to the left of the big G.

I'd appreciate any insight anyone has on this.... :o)

Actually, while I'm here - anyone know how I can back up my SIM contacts on
to my PC? I've started Active Sync but I don't see how it can do it that way
around. Thanks in advance,

That means you have it on 'Vibrate' or you have vibrate enabled. :)

the Big 'G' means you have GPRS available to use.

James, you are so good at this. Now I feel stupid, ha ha - vibrate! Who
knew it would be that simple, huh?! *Thank you*

I checked the modaco website so that I didn't have to keep bothering you
here but some of the links aren't working for me... (typically the ones I
want, lol).

Do you know if I can use ActiveSync with Outlook Express? I don't like
Outlook....

Thanks in advance!
