Contacts - fields missing JohnB 06-16-2008

Windows Mobile 5 on a Palm Treo. Activesync 4.2 on my PC.

I noticed that some of my fields in Outlook 2003 don't show up in my
Contacts on my Treo. For example Business Addresses don't show up on the
Treo or, anything in the note section of the Contact in Outlook (not Notes
in Outlook).

And of course, the Settings option for Contacts is Grayed out in ActiveSync.
Is there any way to control this "feature".

TIA

I use Pocket Informant (PI) instead of the built-in
Calendar/Contacts/Tasks/Notes apps. PI can show both work and home address
and notes for a contact. IMHO PI is worth every <insert local currency> you
pay for it.

While PI is certainly a powerful program, I'd argue the OP shouldn't need a
third-party solution to get his device to do what it's supposed to do out
of the box!

I suspect the PIM data is corrupted on the device somehow. First I'd try
deleting the partnership, deleting all PIM data from the device and start
over by creating a new partnership and resyncing. If that doesn't work, a
hard reset ("clear storage") is probably in order, unfortunately...

Hi,
Microsoft decided not to offer all the fields for the Contacts to match
Outlook. There is no option to add fields to the existing Contacts
application.

Correct, but the OP says that basic included fields aren't synching, like
the "notes" field, or Work address.
