ok, you got me... I was thinking about the ppc interface and there is no
display as "field" other than the listing...

...so, it's activesync that's converting on the sync back to the PC?

If so, the first thing I would check would be the Outlook PC's "display
as settings" and, even if they are correct, would select something else,
exit outlook, then restart and set it back to the default to see if that
would force a reset.

Not sure.

No, it did not happen. I just tried on my primary PC (notebook). It looks
like it happens after running Activesync on second (office) PC.

Thanks for all the feedback all. I think Tometa is having the same
issue that I am. You also appear to be running the same environment
that I am (multiple profiles, one work (Exchange Server) and one
home(Outlook PST)).

I have searched for any kind of setting in Outlook to specify the
"Display as" field value. I'm still stumped as to why ActiveSync is
even touching the "Display as" field to be honest
