 When "Media" is selected, ActiveSync and My Device are nearly in
constant "Looking for changes mode" mode.

The first status to appear is "Beginning Syncronization" next to the
Media item in ActiveSync. A normal-looking syncronization occurs,
checkmarks appear next to each item in the status column, and the
status ends at "Syncronized" as expected.

Within a few seconds of seeing the "Syncronized" message, the
ActiveSync Status for "Media" changes from blank to "Beginning
Synchronization." The whole process repeats over and over again.

In Windows Media Player options, in the Storage Card settings, I have
checked and unchecked the box that says "Start sync when device
connects." Regardless of that setting, the behavior does not change.

This greatly impacts my ability to use my machine because wmplayer.exe
is constantly launching. On each launch, it starts Windows Update to
look for updates (despite my WMP Options settings to the contrary).
Both result in a heavy impact to my CPU load and usage experience.

Windows XP SP2
Windows Media Player 11
ActiveSync 4.5.0
Samsung i730 running Windows Mobile (Verizon Wireless)

 Did anyone ever solve Robb's problem? I'm seeing the exact same issue with a
Samsung SCH-i760. It's like WMP (either on the PC or on the device) is
constantly telling itself something has changed.
