Just think about the following...
Imagine you have 3 emails and you want to answer them all.
It should connect three times to the Internet to send them.
However, current smartphone configuration let you write the 3 emails and
then send themm at one time, not one by one.
That's the reason because it doesn't send the email unless you do a
Send/Receive
