I have a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600, Video card is ATI Radeon X300
series.

I'm dual booting Vista Ultimate 64 SP1 and XP MCE SP3.

My live TV seems to have a much better picture quality in Vista than in
XP and I'm wondering what codec people are using for best results in XP
MCE?

Thanks.

Most seem to like the nVidia Pure Platinum one (try it free, $20 to buy the
basic).

Thanks, I'm not sure it'll work with an ATI graphics card?

Thanks, the issue is moot now as the card seems to have died again and
neither XP nor Vista will boot unless the card is physically removed or
disabled in Device Manager. Last time, Hauppauge replaced the card
under warranty, this time I think I'll just toss it into the trash and
do without.

I've got a few more things to try but I'm very reluctant to spend much
more time with it since it's something I rarely use.
