I have just bought a xda ii mini with a Chinese Window Monile 2003 SE
OS. There is no "Cleartype" tab in the "Settings". How can I turn on the
Cleartype font for the OS displays, such as display in "Today" or the
dailing pad etc.

The Chinese OS support cleartype font as I can turn it on for 3rd
parties software such as Agenda Fusion. Just don't know how to turn it
on for the OS display.

James, thanks for your help. The CAB file cannot be installed in my PPC,
I don't know why. I have tried to select different phone model, it still
doesn't work. Any idea ?

Because Windows Mobile 2003 SE Chinese OS use bitmap based font, even if
you turn on ClearType on your device, it will not be fully ClearType
display (that is why ClearType is disabled on Chinese device). It will
show English characters in ClearType, but Chinese characters in
non-ClearType. So I would not recommend turning on ClearType.

That said, you can change the registry setting specified in this page.
