I've nearly pulled all my hair out here.
I cannot get these two connected:
Cingular 8125 w/Windows Mobile 5.0
Dell Latitude running Windows 2000 (Latest updates/etc.)
I've tried
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/activesync/default.mspx
I've TURNED OFF every security app I can find.
Extend 360
StopZilla
Ad-Aware
Black Ice
Everything is off.
Active Sync 4.1 just sits and spins: 'Connecting'
Eventually I just pull the USB cable and it stops.
Any other suggestions?

Interesting....
I tried a different computer, it connected, then sat forever saying
'Retrieving Settings'
???
So far, I'm not all that impressed with ActiveSync...

Try uninstalling some of those security apps - especially BlackIce and
any other firewall-type applications.

Could you post relevant messages from the WCESMgr.log file. To open the file
do the following:
1. Click Start -> Run and type:
%temp%\wcesmgr.log
2. Click Ok or enter.
