I have an Ipaq PDA running ActiveSync 4.5.0 that I sync with my laptop
running XP pro and Office2007. There have been no problems for ages. Today
I am getting an unresolved item showing up against the 'Inbox' information
type. When I click resolve items I get an error message saying - [Cannot
convert 'Gruden' file. The system cannot find file specified.] There is no
error message number being displayed. I recently created a file called
Gruden.pdf but have not transferred this file from the laptop to the PDA nor
has the file been attached to any email. In layman's terms, I cannot
understand why ActiveSync is trying to do anything with Gruden.pdf. Also, I
have found that the ActiveSync window is substantially frozen now that there
is an unresolved record. I cannot close the window down and to get the
system to try and resovle the outstanding record I have to right click the
ActiveSync icon in the bottom right of screen.
I have rebooted several times which has not resolved the problem.
Can anyone help me out?

Hi,

Under ActiveSync, disable Inbox syncing and allow the device to sync once.
Then enable it again and see if it helps. If not, then you might want to
try and narrow down the item that is causing the error. Move all the inbox
items to a new folder which is not available for sync. Once the empty inbox
is synchronized to the device, you can start moving the message back to the
default folder in small sets and see which set throws the error and then
narrow down further.
