Cannot Search Public Folders Steve O'Hara 05-05-2006

I'm using Outlook 2003 connecting to Exchange 2003 in cache mode and with
"download favourites" set. I've checked , I've got a healthy 1GB OST file
(so the offline cacheing is definitely working).

However, WDS doesn't index the contents of the favourite folders (or the
public ones). It does index the names of the folders, bit not the contents.
I've tried everthing to correct this - in the setup, I cleared all the index
folders and drilled down to a specific public folder just so that the
indexing woouldn't take too long. I rebuild the index but still, not
content.
If I search for the folder name, it finds it ok, but if I try and double
click on it, it just says that the folder is not available or has moved.

I've uninstalled, re-installed, makes no difference.

Very frustrating, am I the only person having these problems?

Thanks,

Steve

Just to say, I didn't solve this problem with WDS, I simply downloaded
Lookout (the forerunner to WDS) which worked beautifully - it did exactly
what it said it would and although it's only useable from within Outlook,
it's what I wanted from the start.
