Hi Everyone, Glad I found this newsgroup, I was beginning to loose all hope
:(

I've just got an Orange SPV M5000 (identical to O2 XDA Exec, and others)
It's WM5.

I've installed ActiveSync 4.1 from the CD and it synced up first time no
problem and copied all my contacts and calendar across. Then I disconnected
and it will not work since.

I've tried v4.1 and v4.2 Uninstalled both fully, and deleted the install
folder in profiles, and removed some of the dlls from system32 (rapi.dll,
ceutil.dll, cewmdm.dll) and tried installing both versions and it still
won't work.

When the USB is connected, it detects the device fine, sets up the network
connection, it gets an IP Address and then ActiveSync wakes up and tries to
connect... spinney green thing just goes round and round forever!

does anyone have any advice or experience of this. your help would be very
welcome and appreciated.
All the best,
Al

Al - I hear your frustation.

By any chance could you get me the network traffic snapshot by
using some network monitoring tool like say Ethereal. The network traffic
between device and desktop will help me figure out which port
communication seems to be blocked on and where in the protocol handshake
the issue lies.

I am confused since the very first sync worked just fine.
