RHi Folks:
All was well until yesterday, when I noticed my Remote Record task bar icon
with a line through it, and a cue to update the Remote record service to a
new version. I did so, and now I can no longer remotely schedule shows for
recording from the "MSN Entertainment: TV" site. Despite the fact that I can
sign on just fine, and the system passes the connectivity tests, and the
internet connection is fine, and both the remote and MCE 2005 program guides
are updated and appear accurate, I keep getting the same error: "This show
was not found. Your Media Center PC Program Guide might be out of date.
Update your Program Guide and try again." I ran through the updating process
again on MCE 2005, but still get this error. All was fine until the update,
but now I keep getting the same error. I can schedule and record just fine
from the PC through MCE 2005 itself -- it's just the remote recording feature
that has gone berserk.
Any thoughts?

You're not the only one with problems with the new Remote Record. I guess
they released that update without asking any of the Media Center MVPs to
test it <g>. Hopefully they'll release a hot fix Real Soon Now...
In the meantime, you can use Orb at www.orb.com for the same thing...

Please log in for more thread options Following up, has anyone on the EAST COAST had any success remotely
scheduling a show through the MSN Entertainment site -- since the Remote
Record update? It now appears that it may be a problem for those of us on
the East Coast in particular. While we have noted that the times listed in
both of the program guides (MSN internet and MCE2005) are correct EST times,
I (and others) have now noted that shows that we recorded BEFORE the update,
and that still appear in the "My Recordings" page on the MSN TV site, are now
incorrectly listed as having been recorded at WEST COAST times. It appears
that the new programs selected for recording at the MSN site are not being
"found" because the time difference between east and west coast has somehow
been lost in the new update. Has anyone else from the East Coast seen this
problem?

Please log in for more thread options Well . . . today (Thursday Aug 10 at 9:30 am EST) something SEEMS to be going
on with the system -- though it is STILL not working.
Whereas, since the update, shows were appearing in "My Recordings" with
incorrect times, NOW the connection from the MSN site is very slow, the shows
are not appearing at all, and instead of saying "Show not found ..." when a
recording request is sent, the system is directing users to "Try again later".
Anyone else seeing this? I HOPE it is an indication of the commencement of
badly needed repairs.

Please log in for more thread options Let MS know there are more than 10 people effected by the problem, it seems
to be taking them a while to get it fixed.
