I'm new to certificates and trying to use a certificate with IAS for PEAP
authentication. I have generated a certificate with my local CA. But how do
I get it to IAS. I found a KB note that says if I get an error "A
certificate could not be found" that I should follow the steps.
1. type http://localhost/certsrv
I try this and just get error "can't find or something
What am I doing wrong.
Thank you,

Obviously the step you're describing is accessing Certificate Services Web
interface, which is not on IAS. A better reference to the KB article, like
the number, could help.

Now about IAS certificate. I find that those have to be generated using
specific CSP, namely Microsoft RSA Schannel CSP. You can do Web enrollment
from IAS server- just go to the advanced page and select appropriate CSP.
Also need to use machine store.

I was following Chapter 6 Managing Microsoft Certicate Services and SSL
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windows2000serv/technologies/iis/maintain/featusability/c06iis.mspx
and the section "Accessing Certificate Services in a Browser." Step 6 says
"The CertSrv directory should be configured as an ISAPI application with a
starting point that points to its base directory. Is this a separate step or
just repeat what was already done. What does "configured as an ISAPI
application mean. When I try http://localhost/CertSrv/ I get error "can't
find file." This note is for Windows 2000, but I have Win2003 server, could
this be the problem.
Thank you,
