I have a Velocity Micro laptop with two 512MB PC2100 memory sticks.
One died. I'm finding PC2700 is a lot cheaper and more available.
Will I have trouble if I mix 'em?
Thanks, mike

Memory in laptops is never a definite yes on no.
Over the years I have had very good luck mixing memory in desktops.
Laptops are very fussy.
Before you plug it in, check the voltage needed to see if the laptop is
compatible.
Worst that could happen is you ruin the memory, or even FRY your laptop.
Best is of course, it just might work.
If the price is close then why take a chance?
Do you feel lucky,,,,,, well do you???

You should be ok .... MOST of the time (more than 90%), but having a
problem isn't absolutely impossible.

It will either work without a hitch or the laptop will reject it
outright at POST.
