We have 3 Acer PCs (2 with brand new CD drives) where the user (limited
access) cannot access the drive.
We use Active Directory and the users log into a domain, not locally to
the PC. We've changed the security settings for these users as follows:
security settings --> local policy --> user right assignment ----> load
and unload device drivers = everyone and then again for specific user
security settings --> local policy --> security options ----> devices:
allowed to format and eject removable media
But it makes no difference.
I can access the CD drive fine through my account (full access) when I
log in.
The funny thing is that the user can access the drive if they log into
the domain with a CD in the drive.
Any help would be appreciated.
